Background:
Mariola was a highly respected Polish Gynecologist and Professor of Medical Sciences who was a longstanding member of IS-PAS. She worked tirelessly to ensure the best outcomes for women and their babies across all aspects of obstetrics, including placenta accreta spectrum (PAS). Her untimely passing in 2023 left an enormous hole in the IS-PAS family. As she was a dedicated teacher and mentor, we have chosen to commemorate her with an award to an early career person working in the field of PAS.
Qualification criteria*:
- Member of IS-PAS (with no outstanding membership fees)
- <10 years since completion of specialist training (e.g. PhD or medical training in their chosen specialty e.g. Obstetrics)
Award details:
- This will be awarded once a year at the IS-PAS AGM
- The prize consists of 500 Euros
- It will be awarded for service to the field of PAS (e.g research work, setting up a PAS service in a needed setting, exceptional teaching or collaborative projects)
- The winner will be decided by the Board of IS-PAS from applications received by the advertised closing date for that year
- Applicants can be nominated by others or self-nominate
